Another brilliant article. I made the realisation that my righteous indignation on social media platforms, no matter how justified, was only serving companies like Facebook by increasing engagement and like you say anger is one sure fire way of getting people to click, share and as a result sell data to advertisers. I also realised I was just preaching to the converted and making no real impact at all. Real social change comes from engaging with everyone on a human to human basis and sometimes that means being able to engage calmly with people you fervently disagree with.
